Long before Jesus was born, God told
the prophets that He was going to visit us in a very special way. God never
forgets His promises, so one day He sent Angel Gabriel to a young woman
called Mary. He told her that she was going to have a baby. The baby's father
would not be the man Joseph that she was getting ready to marry. This very
special child would come by the Holy Spirit of God. Mary was a wonderful
woman and she believed God. The Angel of the Lord also told her fiancé,
Joseph, that the Virgin Mary was going to have this most special child. The
Angel also told Joseph, "Thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall
save His people from their sins." |

Joseph and Mary went to a small town
called Bethlehem. The town was so full of people that Joseph and Mary had to
stay in a stable where the animals were kept. There our Lord and Savior,
Jesus was born. They wrapped him up and made a bed for him in a manger. |

Outside, that glorious night, the
shepherds were looking after their sheep. Suddenly, the Angel of the Lord
appeared and the glory of the Lord shone all around them. The Angel told them
the good news of Jesus' birth. Then a host of angels appeared and praised God
saying, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward
men." |

When the angels left, the excited
shepherds went to the stable where they found the Baby. They thanked and
praised God. The Almighty God had come to be with them and with us. |
