The Bible is full of stories of people who got into trouble because they would not listen to God. We need to remember all the people who drowned in Noah's day. We also think about Eve who, together with Adam, was sent out of the Garden of Eden. Then there was Samson who fell in love with an ungodly, evil woman who caused him to be killed. There are also many stories of people who were blessed because they listened to God. We can think of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. We might also think of Noah, Abraham and Esther.

God is the one who gives us life. He made us and He knows what is good for us and what is bad for us. God loves us very much and he gave us His Word, the Bible, so we can know Him. The Bible tells what we should do and what we shouldn't do. If we follow God's rules we can live a happy and blessed life.

God gave us parents to love us and care for us. He tells us, in the Bible, to obey our parents in the Lord and to honour our father and mother. If your parents do things that God says are wrong, then tell them in a respectful way. Remember, parents are human and they sometimes make mistakes but God never makes a mistake. Children, listen to God. Be obedient to your mom and dad and the Lord will bless you.
