There once was a man
called Saul. He was a Jew who believed in God. When it came to the old
Scriptures, Saul was a very smart man. But Saul had a big problem. He did not
believe Jesus was God, sent from Heaven, to live with us. He didn't like
anyone who loved Jesus. He traveled many places and punished good Christian
men and women and had them beaten and put into jail. Some people even died.
Poor Saul thought he was doing the right thing and that God would be pleased
with him. |

One day Saul was on his
way to the city of Damascus to find and punish Christians. All of a sudden, a
bright light from heaven blinded him. He fell to the ground and a voice spoke
to him saying, "Saul, why are you doing these bad things to me?"
"Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. The Lord answered and said,
"I am Jesus." Saul was very surprised and afraid. |

God told Saul to go to a
certain house in Damascus and wait. God then sent a man named Ananias to pray
for Saul. Saul was healed, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. |

From then on Saul's name
was changed to Paul. God taught Paul all he needed to know and used him in a
wonderful and very powerful way. He went everywhere telling the people about
the good news of Jesus Christ. God also used Paul to write most of the New
Testament. We can open our Bibles and read, word for word, the wonderful
truths that God gave to Paul to share with us. |
