When a woman gives birth
to a baby, we say the baby is born. This is the natural birth. Even though we
can't see it, the baby grows a little every day. While the baby is small it
doesn't know how to do sinful things. But as a child grows, it is tempted to do
the wrong things. We all know that sooner or later the child will do or say
or think something that does not please God. We know this is true because the
Bible says we are all sinners. |

When we begin to sin, we
feel bad and we need to be forgiven and have our sins washed away. The only
One who can wash our sins away is Jesus. The Bible tells us that Jesus is
God. Even though he was tempted to do wrong, He lived a perfect life without
sin. The Bible tells us Jesus died on the cross to wash our sins away. When
Jesus died, he agreed to take the blame for all the wrong things we do. All
we have to do is believe that He died for our sins and that He rose from the
grave and is alive forever more. Then we ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. |

Jesus said we must be
born again. Jesus did not mean that we should go back into our mommy's tummy.
He said we must believe in Him and allow Him to wash our sins away. When we
do this with all our heart, God's Spirit comes to live in us. We start
wanting to do things God's way. People who are born-again are changed by the
Holy Spirit of God when He comes to live in their hearts. With God helping us
we become more and more like Him. |

The Bible tells us to
repent. That means to stop doing and saying bad things, by allowing Jesus
Christ to be our Lord and Savior. The Bible also tells us to be baptized in
the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ and let Him become the most important
person in our lives. |
